 There are some bright spots that should encourage you to look to the future even though the US economy is going through some tough time right now. By offering Obama scholarships for moms, the government is encouraging women to go to college. All types of mothers now have the chance to get a quality education that will undoubtedly benefit their families and future employers.


Obama scholarships are made possible by federal Pell Grants. To encourage more moms to go back to school, President Obama and the government made some changes to these grants. Unlike before, Pell Grants worth more than $5,000 can be awarded. It's more than a $1,000 over the previous maximum for these grants. Because these grants are meant to help low-income students, that means many single mothers are eligible. To deal with this, the government is encouraging moms to go back to school.  Notwithstanding the fact that higher education is important, there are often a number of obstacles that can hinder potential students from enrolling in college. Family obligations and financial concerns are often at the top of this list, especially for single mothers. In an attempt to ease some of the concerns associated with going to college, Obama grants are intended to encourage mothers to return to college to earn a degree.


In many cases, the purpose of federal grants is to help disadvantaged groups to attend college. One endowment often given to low-income students is the federal Pell grant.
